CANTON, Ga. — Canton Police closed Shoal Creek Road at Old Donaldson Road after a tree fell onto power lines.
Nearby power poles appeared close to snapping, according to Cherokee county Fire and Emergency.
The exact location of the closure is about 100 feet past the entrance to Whispering Woods.

The road may remain closed as late as 6 p.m. Friday. Georgia Power has crews addressing the damage to the lines and poles.
Soleil community opened its rear entrance gates to allow vehicles to pass through.
Please use caution, follow all traffic directions, and do not attempt to drive around barricades or emergency vehicles.
