Trae Young out for Game 4 of Eastern Conference Finals

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has learned that Trae Young is out for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

It is a must-win game for the Atlanta Hawks if they want to go any further.

The Hawks star point guard got tangled up with an official during the third quarter Sunday.

Young inadvertently stepped on the right foot of referee Sean Wright, who was standing out of bounds, and hurt his ankle.

“I didn’t see him,” he said. “I guess I’ve got to have eyes in the back of my head now to see who’s behind me.”

Young headed to the locker room and returned for the fourth quarter but wasn’t up to full speed. A MRI determined that Young bruised a bone in his right foot.

The Hawks announced that Tuesday’s game is sold out with standing-room only tickets available. Tip off is at 8:30 p.m.

The Hawks took the day to regroup on Monday after the 113-102 Game 3 loss; however, heading into Game 4 down 2-1 in the series isn’t something new for the Hawks.

In the conference semifinals against the Sixers, the Hawks split the first two games in Philadelphia and lost Game 3 at home. The team went on to win Game 4 at home, Game 5 and Game 7 on the road.
