SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A huge electronic dance music festival is going on in south Fulton County.
About 160,000 people from across the country are expected to attend Tomorrow World.
As Channel 2's Tom Regan found out the rain is not stopping the music.
Thousands ran through the gates for the opening of the festival Friday
The three-day festival mashes techno music with sensational stage sets a kind of must-see fantasy land for the electronic dance music fan.
"We come from Ohio, Florida, Michigan. We do this once a year. It's a great time. The rain is kind of drag right now," festival goes Jeff Petit told Regan.
Heavy rain overnight turned the sprawling campgrounds into mud flats where an estimated 40,000 campers will spend the weekend.
"I'll get a little wet, but it won't change my attitude," said Linda Larson, who came to the festival from Texas. "You make the most of it. I'm so happy to be here with my friends. It's TomorrowWorld, you cannot, not be happy. There's no way not to."
TomorrowWorld is now in its third year in Atlanta.
The festival features 300 DJs on multiple stages.
A ticket for the weekend will cost you a few hundred dollars. Festival organizers say the event brought in over $90 million in revenue to Georgia last year.
That number is expected to grow even higher this year.
TomorrowWorld organizers say drugs are not allowed at the festival. Even so, they have a medical staff to help in the event of an emergency.
The festival runs through Sunday.
