Tempers flare over traffic congestion at metro mall, leaving 1 man stabbed

CUMMING, Ga. — A man was stabbed at busy shopping plaza in Cumming just as the evening rush hour was winding down.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office was called out to the Collections of Forsyth around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators said everything started over road rage after the drivers became angry about the traffic congestion in the area.

At some point, things turned physical between two people, leading to a victim being stabbed multiple times.

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital. As of Saturday, he remains in critical condition.

The suspect, 19-year-old Christopher Hamill of Alpharetta, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with other weapon and aggravated battery.

Police are still actively investigating the incident.
