COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Police have arrested a teenaged mother accused in a videotaped beating of two women during a party.
The young mother was out on bond at the time after police said she was behind the wheel during a drive-by where a man was shot.
Coweta County Sheriff's Investigators said 18-year-old Aryanna Morris beat one woman in a hotel room full of people earlier this year. Then they said she attacked a second woman. Cellphone video shows the woman being kneed in the stomach.
When one of the women got away and hid in a bathroom, the video shows the attacker attempting to kick down the door. During the attack, it sounds like someone says Morris' name.
Investigators took a look at the video and police later arrested Morris on simple battery and battery charges.
Morris is also accused in another violent incident. Police said she was behind the wheel during a drive-by when a man was shot at a home on Hill Street last year. She was out on bond on that incident.
Authorities said the bonding company found out about the new charges and pulled its bond.
That means Morris is being held on a $22,000 bond, instead of the $2,000 bond the court gave her on the new charges.
Channel 2’s Tom Jones showed the video to people who live near where the drive-by took place. They said the video is excellent evidence for prosecutors.
"You live that life you got to live them consequences," one woman said.
Another woman said the attacker needs to make better choices.
"She just had a baby. You have to think about different things other than fighting somebody," she said.
Jones spoke to Morris' mother by phone. She said her daughter wants to tell her side of the story and will call from jail.
