DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A tanker truck flipped over and landed in a ditch in a DeKalb County neighborhood on Friday morning.
Browns Mill Road at White Circle is shut down as crews try to figure out how to safely remove the truck and contain a fuel leak.

Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach has learned the truck was carrying about 7,500 gallons of fuel. Fire officials at the scene told Gehlbach that the fuel is leaking, but they aren’t sure how much of it has spilled.
There are concerns about the fuel leak running off into a storm drain and nearby creek that feeds into Browns Mill Lake and the South River. Gehlbach reports that the Georgia Environmental Protection Agency and Georgia State Patrol commercial vehicle division have been called out to assist.

Drivers are being rerouted in the area and fire officials have alerted DeKalb County Schools about delays that could impact their bus routes.
Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields says drivers can use Klondike Road/S Goddard Road, E. Fairview Road or Highway 138 as alternates.
It’s unclear how long it will take to clear the crash. The driver made it out of the truck safely.
