ATLANTA — Atlanta police are looking for the gunman in a triple shooting that left one person dead Monday afternoon.

It happened at the Apple Tree apartments on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. Witnesses said they heard screaming and saw a man who had been shot limping down the street.

"I heard at least about five or six shots," resident Anthony Dunbar told Channel 2's Craig Lucie.

Dunbar said before the shots, he heard two women screaming.

"The door was wide open, and I seen the guys running out the back door shooting. I seen all the blood and then, the guy run all the way up there and landed on the ground," he said.

Officers reviewed evidence in the area. One victim's shoes were left on the ground near the entrance of the complex. Ten yards away, an evidence marker marked a small black case.

"As the victim fled the apartment, there's blood and clothing that is considered evidence," Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci said.

Lucie went to Grady Hospital, where the two surviving victims were being treated. Police have not revealed their conditions.
