ATLANTA — He’s accused of running from state troopers going 90 miles per hour before he crashed and killed a woman.

Now, Channel 2’s Tom Jones learned this isn’t 26-year-old Fre’Shun White’s first time being arrested for driving nearly 100 miles per hour on the interstate.

The cousin of 51-year-old Chatanna Patterson and her sister Heather McLaughlin was having a hard time processing the incident that killed Patterson and left McLaughlin in the hospital with serious injuries.

‘It’s my cousins. It’s my family,” said the cousin who only wanted to share her first name, Ashley.

The family might not be happy to hear what we discovered when we looked into the criminal history of White.

He’s the man Georgia State Patrol says ran from them at excessive speeds on I-20 Memorial day, left the interstate and crashed into Patterson and McLaughlin at a Shell gas station on Hill street.

Channel 2 looked into White’s criminal history and found Cobb County police arrested him in 2023 for going 89 miles on I-75 near Delk road.

He faces a long list of charges, including three counts of DUI after officers said he had meth in his system.

White’s bond conditions indicated he should not use alcohol and illegal drugs.

Records show in 2024, he tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, was arrested for marijuana possession, failed to attend alcohol and drug counseling and failed to appear for drug tests screening.

Documents show Pretrial Services asked to have his bond revoked but canceled that request after White showed he completed six drug and alcohol classes. That’s even though the documents show he continued to violate his bond conditions.

White faces first-degree vehicular homicide and other charges in the Atlanta incident.

He faces a long list of charges including DUI, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and drug charges in the Cobb County case. He is on a trial calendar in that case.

He was injured in the Atlanta crash and hasn’t made his first appearance.
