LAGRANGE, Ga. — A student at a west Georgia private school is now in police custody after threatening to shoot classmates.
Police say they were called to LaGrange Academy just after 1 p.m. after a 16-year-old student threatened to shoot others before committing suicide.

By the time police arrived, school administrators had already separated the student from everyone else.
Investigators determined the student did not have any weapons.

The student, whose identity has not been released, was taken into police custody and is cooperating with investigators.
It’s unclear if the student will face criminal charges.
