SWAT called to Union City hotel after 2 people shot

UNION CITY, Ga. — Union City police say the SWAT team was called out to a hotel after two people were shot and the suspects ran inside.

It happened at a hotel along Shannon Parkway around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said a man and a women were shot at one hotel. The two suspects then ran inside a second hotel.

“The female subject sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and the male subject sustained a gunshot wound to the lower torso,” police said in a news release.

Both victims have been taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for their injuries. Investigators said they were both stable.

Investigators said a SWAT team was sent the hotel to search for the shooters, but they got away.

Police told Channel 2′s Audrey Washington they believe they know where the two suspects are and are obtaining warrants.
