SNELLVILLE, Ga. — A recent health inspection led to a big drop in the score for a McDonald's restaurant on Main Street in Snellville.
In two previous inspections, the restaurant received scores in the 90s. This time the score was 62.
During the April 2 inspection, the inspector found that multiple burgers were cooked below the required internal temperature.
Some of the other violations that caused the restaurant to fail included employees repeatedly changing gloves to work with food without washing hands, the person in charge not meeting his or her responsibilities and the cooler above the prep table not holding at a cold enough temperature.
McDonald's is supposed to have its score of 62 prominently displayed in the restaurant, but on Monday the old score of 92 was posted.
Channel 2's Carol Sbarge went to the Snellville location to ask about the violations. Sbarge was told to contact the greater Atlanta McDonald's Operators Association.
The association sent Sbarge a statement, which said:
"Providing high-quality food and service to our customers is our number one goal. We take very seriously the proper operations of our restaurants and our equipment in order to provide our patrons with the best experience. As such, our team was activated to immediately fix the issues identified during the inspection."
McDonald's officials said they look forward to having the inspector return to the restaurant and give a positive re-inspection report.
Channel 2 Action News will report on that new score when it happens.
