Showers, storms roll in overnight but will dissipate by morning

Storms will approach northwest Georgia through the evening hours, coming through and then diminishing through the night and into the morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking the evening weather and the week ahead, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News starting at 4:00 p.m.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says Friday will start with clouds and a few stray showers. The afternoon will turn partly cloudy, but scattered showers and some storms will develop as the day heats up across metro Atlanta, especially in the south metro.

These showers will move to the east and will be out of our area by Friday evening.

The severe weather risk for Friday will exist mainly to the south of the metro.
