Heavy rain and storms are moving through north Georgia on Friday morning.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Habersham and Rabun counties until 5:45 a.m.
Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking what’s left of the showers and storms moving through north Georgia, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News This Morning from 4:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
A few severe thunderstorm warnings were issued overnight for Bartow, Chattooga, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon and Pickens counties but have now expired.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says the system will diminish by daybreak Friday morning.
The afternoon will turn partly cloudy, but scattered showers and some storms will develop as the day heats up across metro Atlanta, especially in the south metro.
These showers will move to the east and will be out of our area by Friday evening. The severe weather risk for Friday will exist mainly to the south of the metro.
The streak of consecutive 90-degree days is going to continue for a while. It’s currently stands at 13.
