ATLANTA, Ga. — Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking cooler temperatures coming metro Atlanta after showers moved through the area.

The heaviest rain came down in midtown and Buckhead, according to Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz.

He said drier air will move in to northwest Georgia and metro Atlanta, breaking up the overcast skies. The bulk of rain moved south later in the afternoon.

Metro residents will wake up Sunday to temperatures in the 40s.

Nitz said a stray shower may come with a cold front and it'll be chilly going into the evening.

The sunshine will hang around, but temperatures will remain cool through the day.
