HALL COUNTY, Ga. — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the death of K-9 Ann, a 6-year-old bloodhound who served with the agency’s K-9 unit.

Ann joined the Hall County Sheriff’s Office at just 8 weeks old. She served alongside Deputy Nick Adams beginning in April 2021. Before that, she worked with SSgt. Ryan Watson.
During her career, Ann held a National Trailing Certification and responded to more than 200 operational deployments.
The sheriff’s office said her tracking abilities were instrumental in locating missing children, helping disoriented elderly people return home safely, searching for lost citizens and tracking wanted suspects.

Ann was also a familiar face at community events, including Mutts on Main and other events throughout Hall County.
K-9 Ann died on Sept. 16, 2026. She was taken to UGA Veterinary Hospital for further examination to determine the cause of death.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
The sheriff’s office asked the community to keep Ann’s handler and family in their thoughts and prayers.
