TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — The Troup County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what they say was a shooting at a large gathering.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called out to Woodstream Trail around 12:33 a.m. on Sunday after getting reports of gunshots in the area.
As deputies went to the scene, the sheriff’s office said Troup County 911 kept receiving calls about shots fired and a number of vehicles leaving the area.
When the sheriff’s deputies got to the scene, they found no one had been shot or injured by gunfire.

As the investigation continued, deputies found “a number of shell casings in the roadway along with houses, cars and mailboxes that received damage from gunfire.”
At this time, TCSO said a person or persons, currently unknown, had opened fire at a large gathering at a home on Woodstream Trail.
The investigation is still active and deputies are asking anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 706-883-1616.
TCSO did not identify any potential suspects, or a potential motive.
