ATLANTA — Athens-Clarke County Police said there was major flooding in the area of Westlake Drive and Fortson Drive, and people were told to avoid the area.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued earlier for Clarke and Oconee counties that expired at 5:15 p.m.

The main threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph that could bring down trees and power lines.

Meanwhile in the tropics, Dolly is no longer a tropical storm. It will still bring gusty wind and rain to the northern Caribbean islands late this weekend into next week.
