Rape reported on Tech campus

ATLANTA,None — Police are investigating after a Georgia Tech student reported being raped behind a fraternity house on campus.

The campus was full of students headed for a football game when the attack happened around 6:40 p.m. Thursday night.

The victim said she was raped by a man she didn’t know in an alley behind the Sigma Nu fraternity. It was the latest in a string of attacks and robberies on the campus in recent months.

“They think that they can pull things off, and to be honest, it's been working. There hasn't been enough quick enough response, and it doesn't seem to me anyone can find the culprits behind any of these assaults,” student Shane Gizzi said.

Students said they've received emails from campus police every time a crime happens.

“There was a time when we got three in a week,” Jeremy Scroggs said.

Students said they are taking precautions.

“A lot of it is that we are in downtown Atlanta.  You just have to be safe. I make sure to always have someone to walk me home,” Brittany Opraseuth said.
