Rabid beaver alert issued for Hall County

HALL COUNTY, Ga — Hall County government has issued a rabies alert for the county.

This is the 15th confirmed case of rabies in Hall County this year. Hall County officials say that someone found a rabid beaver in the Looper Point area of north Hall County. The beaver was shipped to the Georgian Public Health lab-virology section in Decatur.

Hall County Animal control was told Wednesday that the beaver tested positive for rabies.

Positive alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid beaver was located. Officials encourage animal owners to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies.
