HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Citizen and law enforcement agencies from across Georgia are coming together Friday to remember a Henry County police officer killed in the line of duty.
The public is paying respect, alongside officers, to officer Paramhans Desai. Officials said it is day of healing.
The event began at Henry County police headquarters in McDonough at 12 p.m. The community planted hundreds of blue flags to honor Desai. Some in the community have also installed blue porch lights as well.
Desai was killed last when he was responding to a domestic situation involving Jordan Jackson. Jackson was later found dead inside a Riverdale apartment from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Thursday, Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett announced the arrests of Madison Trop and Kaitlin Finley.
Trop faces charges of aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody and hindering apprehension.
Finley faces charges of hindering apprehension and possession of a controlled substance.

The sheriff said there could be other arrests.
Family members said Desai wanted to be a police officer since he was a little kid.
“He always used to tell everyone around him that I went when I grew up, I’m going to be a police officer,” Divya Desai said.
The 38-year-old fallen officer leaves behind a wife and two sons.
