CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County Sheriff's office is asking for help in locating an 11-year-old boy they believe may be in danger.
Investigators said Elijah Cole was picked up from Sixes Elementary School last Thursday by a family friend, Will Copes. Police said Elijah, Copes and the boy's father, Jason Cole, all stayed at a friend's home that night and have not been seen since.
Police said they believe the three are traveling to Mississippi where Jason Cole and Copes used to live, or Tennessee, where Elijah's mother lives.
Officers said they are worried about Elijah's safety because they cannot confirm the boy's whereabouts and there is a possibility his father could be off his medication.
Investigators said they believe they three may be traveling in a blue 2002 Audi A-6 Station Wagon with tag No. BMN 7737.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 770-928-0239.
