ROSWELL, Ga. — Roswell police are searching for the driver of a white Ford Mustang that may have been racing a BMW that was involved in a fatal crash on Sunday around 12:40 pm.

The crash occurred on Alpharetta Highway right in front of North Fulton Hospital.

Richard Rosen, 87, died in the crash. Police say he was making a left hand turn when the driver of the BMW smashed into him.

"We had several independent witnesses stating that there was racing involved with the both the white mustang and the black BMW. They were racing along Alpharetta Highway, possibly leading up to the collision location," said Sgt. Noah Caplan with the Roswell Police Department.

Police released the picture of the mustang from a surveillance camera and are hoping to speak with the driver.

"Based on those witness statements we want to track down the driver of the white mustang to get his or her account of the accident because we believe he or she was a witness to the accident," Caplan said.

Police believe the mustang has Georgia plates, possibly a Cobb County designation.

So far no one has been charged in the crash.
