FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for a serial burglar who they say is responsible for a rash of car break-ins.

Keith Laird, 24, has more than two dozen warrants out for his arrest in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

Police said he scoured neighborhoods late at night checking for unlocked doors.

Police say Keith Laird is responsible for a rash of car break-ins in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

A handful of the burglaries happened in the Blackstock Mill neighborhood in Cumming.

Police said he got away with computers, purses and guns from several cars.

“He rifled through everything. The glove box was open. If it was unlocked, he was looking for it,” burglary victim Tom Pusateri said.

Authorities said they recovered a stolen AR-15 at Laird’s grandparents' house in Duluth.

According to police, Laird is armed and dangerous. They have been tracking him for a week.

“He’s armed, and I would say dangerous also because we don’t know what his intentions are with these firearms,” Forsyth County Sgt. Scott Bogus said.

Police said they identified Laird through his fingerprints. They said he also tried to use a stolen credit card in Gwinnett County.

Pusateri said he’s concerned that Laird is still out there.

“You still feel kind of violated by just having someone walk down, checking car doors and going right inside,” he said.
