BREMEN, Ga. — The Bremen Police Department is asking for help to find a mother accused of trying to steal from Walmart and leaving her children behind.
Investigators say Victoria Deaton attempted to take over $500 in merchandise from the store on Highway 27 Friday, but employees confronted her.
That’s when they say Deaton took off to avoid police, leaving her 11-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son behind.
When Deaton didn’t return to the store, the children were handed over to their grandfather.
Deaton is facing charges of felony shoplifting, two counts of cruelty to children and two counts of reckless conduct.
If you have any information about where she may be, contact Investigator Casey Vann at 770-537-4441.
