ATLANTA — Atlanta police are searching for the people who targeted a man they had argued with earlier in the day and gunned him down.

Police say a man  got into an argument with a group of men sometime on Monday. Around 11 p.m. Monday, the man and a female friend were walking down Campbellton Road when the group approached him and shot him in the leg.

The victim urged his friend to run, and as she did, the men shot him several more times, police say.

Off camera, witnesses told Channel 2's Darryn Moore the same version of events.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner identified him as 19-year-old Tabaris Sheets from Atlanta.

The woman was not hurt.
