FOREST PARK, Ga. — Police say a man fell to his death while working inside a Kroger distribution center in Forest Park Tuesday evening.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m. at the location at 2000 Anvil Block Road.
The contracted employee, 27-year-old Leonardo DeJesus, was using a platform lift inside an area of a warehouse that is still under construction when he fell.
Investigators from the Forest Park Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the circumstances surrounding this event.
Kroger released a statement saying: “Our condolences are with the victim’s family. The victim was employed with Reich--a subcontractor working under the direction of Witron who is installing automation racking in the Kroger distribution center, when he fell to his death. We are cooperating with the regulatory agencies in their investigations.”
