Police: 14-year-old passenger killed, teen driver hurt in crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Fire and Rescue says a teenager was killed and several others were injured in a multi-car crash Sunday afternoon.
 
The crash happened at Rock Chapel Road and Rockbridge when police say a 14-year-old driver lost control of his Chrysler Sebring, crossed the median and was struck by a Honda Civic.
 
The driver of the Chrysler was transported to Egelston Children's Hospital in serious condition. His 14-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
The drivers and passengers in the Honda and a third car were transported with non life threatening injuries to Grady Memorial Hospital.
 
Witnesses told police the Chrysler was speeding when the car lost control, entered into oncoming traffic and was struck by the Honda.
 
Neither the driver nor passenger in the Chrysler were wearing seat belts, authorities said.
 
This accident is still under investigation.
