Police K-9 receives new bulletproof vest

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A local police K-9 is now safer thanks to a generous donation.

The Sandy Springs Police Department announced Monday that Django has received a new bullet and stab-proof vest.

Joe Raddack of Cumming and non-profit organization called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided $950 for the potentially lifesaving vest. 

Django has worked with Sandy Springs police officer James Reynnells since September 2014.

Since 2009, over 1,517 K-9s received bulletproof vests from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
