ATLANTA, Ga. — Fulton County police are investigating an armored truck robbery at a gas station in southwest Atlanta.

The robbery happened about 2:15 p.m. at the BP on Cascade Road off I-285. Police said a guard from Loomis armored truck service went to the business to service its ATM.

While the guard was leaving, police said he was approached by a man who grabbed a bag of money. The guard scuffled with the man in an attempt to get it back, but the suspect got away.

Police said the suspect left in a gray Nissan Pathfinder bearing Missouri plates.

The guard pulled his weapon and fired at the suspect's SUV. It is unclear whether the suspect was shot. Police are still looking for him and the guard has been taken into custody for questioning. The guard has also been charged with reckless conduct, police said.
