DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 25-year-old woman was shot and killed on Sunday night in a DeKalb County neighborhood with a history of violence.
Amber Marazio was found on To Lani Farm Road just before midnight. She died shortly after she was found by police.
Her friends and family gathered at her house in the subdivision to grieve.
A man who only identified himself as “Q” told Channel 2 Action News the woman was found underneath his Jeep SUV.
“I grew up in bad areas so I get used to people dying,” he said. “It wasn't like a shocker to me. It’s not unusual.”
DeKalb County police say they have no suspect information in the death of Marazio because no witnesses have come forward to describe a shooter. Investigators say she was found with bullet wounds in her torso, and one couple heard gunshots, indicating she was shot in the neighborhood and not dumped there.
“Detectives have been canvassing the area, talking to residents trying to gather as much information as possible and locate anyone who may be able to help us with this investigation,” said Capt. Stephen Fore with the DeKalb County Police Department.
Some neighbors tell Channel 2 Action News they’re still sick over the death of 9-month-old Kendarius Edwards, who was murdered during a home invasion last year.
One man said off-camera that he wants to move his mother out of the neighborhood after the latest homicide.
