2 suspects injured in officer-involved shooting

ATLANTA — A shootout with police put two men in the hospital overnight.
 
The entire incident started in the city of Atlanta and ended in DeKalb County.
 
Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News they spotted a car in southwest Atlanta where someone reported the passengers were waving guns and when an officer tried pull over the car the driver sped off.
 
The pursuit ended on Sugarcreek Place near Bouldercrest Road. Police said the suspects jumped out of the car and ran behind a house and exchanged gunfire with the officers.
 
"At this point we have one 18-year-old suspect that was shot in the leg and we have a 24-year-old suspect that was shot in the abdomen. We have a 22-year-old suspect that is also in custody that has facial injuries from a fall he took when he tried to run from the officer," said Atlanta Police Maj. Jeff Glazier.
 
Police also arrested a woman.
 
No officers were hurt.
 
DeKalb County police are in charge of the shooting part of investigation.
 
The suspects who were shot are in the hospital recovering from their injuries before heading to jail.
 
Police did confirm the car was stolen and the suspects may have been involved in a robbery.
