FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Forsyth County deputies are looking for a Peeping Tom who scared a woman at a local department store.
The incident happened at a Belk store inside Cumming’s Lakeland Plaza. A woman says she was in the dressing room when she saw the man.
Forsyth investigators say a woman was taking her clothes off when she saw the man peering under the door of her dressing room around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. She's not the only one who saw him, deputies said.
“At the same time that he was looking in the dressing room, another female patron had entered and had begun to question as far as what he was doing there," said Maj. Richard Doyle of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives say the man ran out of the store after he was confronted by the woman. They described him as a white man in his mid to late 30s. He’s approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. The man has short brown hair.
He man was wearing blue jeans that were torn in spots on the front and back pockets with flip flops. He also had on a dark bulldogs-hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandana and silver bracelet on his wrist, deputies said.
The incident has made some women think twice while shopping.
“You feel insecure when you go in the store to shop if that has happened,” said DeEtte Bennett.
Deputies said when the man is caught, he’ll be charged with Peeping Tom, which is a felony.
Belk emphasizes that the safety and security of its customers is the store’s top priority. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call 911.
