Coroner identifies pedestrian killed in Lithia Springs hit-and-run

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Lithia Springs.

A coroner identified the victim as 67-year-old Robert Stoskopf, of Lithia Springs.

Sheriff's officials said Stoskopf was walking northbound on Thornton Road sometime between 7 and 8 a.m. Saturday, when a vehicle hit him. He died at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine the make, model and color of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian.

The accident happened along Thornton Road at Waterford Club Drive in front of the Waterford Apartments.

The sheriff’s office and Georgia State Patrol are investigating the accident.
