Paulding County courthouse lockdown lifted

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The Paulding County courthouse was on lockdown Tuesday, officials confirmed.

"We are in the middle of a lockdown," court administrator Frank Baker said. "We do have a lockdown situation that is occurring. This is the day for the public auction on the public steps. It's in relation to that."’

Officials said the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Received information that someone had made threats in reference to a property auction that was to take place in front of the Paulding County Courthouse. Sheriff’s Office Courthouse Security was immediately notified and the site was locked down for precautionary measures. Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with the person at an off-site location and the allegations are being actively investigated.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

The lockdown began just after 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and was lifted before 11:30 a.m.
