If you shop on Amazon, you have probably noticed items that are marked as ‘Amazon’s Choice.’
What you may not know, is that some of those products could actually be counterfeits.
Channel 2 Consumer Adviser Clark Howard explained how.
“I’ve got a special warning for you if you’re an Amazon shopper. It’s something your eyes are drawn to: When you see ‘Amazon’s Choice,’ you assume that it’s something that Amazon has really looked at checked out and is OK,” Howard said. “According to an exhaustive investigation by the Wall Street Journal that is not true at all.”
Amazon is using math formulas algorithms to decide what gets ‘Amazon’s Choice’ label. It could be counterfeit items it could be items that are unsafe for you to buy.
Most of them are not even sold by Amazon directly just listed on Amazon.
“So, don’t be fooled by Amazon’s Choice, because ‘Amazon’s Choice’ could cause you a lot of trouble and you don’t want that,” Howard said.
Howard also suggests shoppers be aware that most items being sold on Amazon aren't actually from Amazon itself.
