ALPHARETTA — Two women credited with saving a baby's life at Pappadeaux's Seafood Kitchen in Alpharetta will see him for the first time since the life-threatening event.
Stephany Melton, a respiratory therapist, and Belinda Williams, a neonatal intensive care unit nurse, were getting dinner at Pappadeaux's after their shift when a woman yelled, "My baby isn't breathing".
Both women ran towards the mother and began working on 17-month-old Ethan. They asked someone at the restaurant to call 911.
"We just happened to be in the right place at the right time," Williams said.
Melton and Williams say Ethan had no pulse so they started compressions. Ethan had a seizure that subsided while the two medical professionals were working on him.
An ambulance eventually arrived and transported Ethan to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
The family says they are eager to thank both women for saving their son's life.
Melton and Williams reunited with the now 22-month-old Ethan months after saving his life.
"We've been waiting to see his personality, because when we saw him it was totally different this is awesome," Melton said.
