FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Sandy Springs Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own after a young man was killed in motorcycle crash.
Jacob Hammond, 21, of Cumming, was killed early Thursday morning after losing control of his motorcycle while going around a curve on Bannister Road near Namon Wallace Road in Forsyth County.
Hammond was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Jacob served as a firefighter with the Sandy Springs Fire Department and the Sheriff's Office has been in contact with the Fire Chief there. The men and women of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office extend their condolences and prayers to the Sandy Springs Fire Department and the Hammond family,” Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman said.

The Sheriff’s Office said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
