ALPHARETTA, Ga. — People eating at a Chick-fil-A restaurant got quite a surprise when a gunman opened fire in the parking lot. Police are now looking for the shooter and the victim.
Steven Bruno told Channel 2’s Justin Wilfon he saw police cars racing toward the restaurant location on Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta, right next door to the upscale Avalon shopping center, on Thursday night.
“I didn’t know exactly what was happening but something big was happening, that’s for sure,” Bruno said. “The entire Alpharetta Police Department was driving rapidly towards Avalon.”

Wilfon obtained surveillance video from police that shows someone with a gun approach a truck in the Chick-fil-A parking lot. When the truck drives off, the gunman opens fire.
“It was kind of brazen for someone to be opening up like that in a parking lot randomly. It was pretty scary, actually,” Bruno said.
Police said some kind of altercation likely led up to the shooting.
The video later shows the shooter and an accomplice running across the parking lot before getting into an SUV and driving off.
“I wish I could help you find them. It’s horrible,” Bruno said.
Police are still looking for the shooter and the victim.
Investigators said the victim’s truck is a dark-colored 2016 Dodge Ram with a Michigan license plate, and they say it may have bullet holes around the rear cab.
Police said the suspects’ car appears to be a dark green Chevrolet Trailblazer.
People in the normally quiet area want the shooter off the streets.
“Well, I was hoping this area was immune to that kind of thing, but I guess we’re not. Nobody is,” Bruno said.
