NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Transportation is asking drivers to be patient while crews resurface a five-mile stretch of State Route 92 from the Cobb County line to Highway 9 in Roswell.
Annalysce Baker told Channel 2 Action News the project will involve resurfacing that stretch of road and moving some traffic detection devices. %

“The reason why we’re doing this project is to resurface the road,” she said. “The road has some normal wear and tear and in order to keep the road in good condition we will resurface the road.”
Baker said the work will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and on weekends through the middle of May.
“We’re asking motorists to be patient,” she said. “There will be overnight lane closures and weekend lane closures and this just allows the crews the time to resurface the road.”
Driver Claire Volk said she drives that stretch often to get from her home in East Cobb County to Roswell.
“It’s the truck route,” she said.
Volk said she doesn’t see the need to spend $2.6 million to resurface the road.
“I know they could probably spend their money someplace else first,” she said. “Some of these side roads need work, too.”
The owner of a karate studio off Woodstock Road told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik he plans to warn his students, many of whom take classes in the evenings and on weekends.
"Add in the construction and traffic and delays it could be problematic,” said Brian Poole, of Karate Atlanta- Roswell.
