COVINGTON, Ga. — Three Covington residents face drug trafficking and firearms charges following a search warrant execution at a Newton County home on Aug. 18 at about 1:30 p.m., the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said.
The search at the Salem Branch Road residence was conducted as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the agency’s SWAT Team.

Deputies seized several firearms and multiple controlled substances during the search, including psilocybin mushrooms, fentanyl, LSD and methamphetamine.
Sheriff’s office officials noted that some of the substances were found in quantities consistent with drug trafficking.
Kenneth Ammons, 60, was arrested at the Salem Branch Road residence. Two other suspects, Mark Gagliano, 52 and Kelsey Gribbons, 33, are currently in custody in neighboring Butts County. All three suspects reside in Covington.

The suspects face charges including trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances, possession of drug-related objects and firearm-related offenses.
