NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies are investigating a shooting at a home in Newton County.
Authorities say a man kicked down the door of a home on Spring Road just before noon on Tuesday.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office said there was a fight and the homeowner fired several shots.
Witnesses Robert Rodriguez and George Owen said they drove by and saw a man on the ground.
"When I stopped, I was able to see the blood on his head," Rodriguez said.
"And then we see all the officers running around the house with their guns pulled," Owen said.

Deputies said the man who broke in was severely wounded.
"When deputies came out, there was so much blood they were unable to ascertain whether he was shot or not," Newton County sheriff's Sgt. Cortney Morrison said.
Deputies determined the two men were involved in a civil dispute. They said because of the intense physical fight, they couldn't tell if the wounded man had been shot.
Morrison said the homeowner will not face charges.
"He was in his home. Someone kicked in his door. You do have a right to defend your property," he said.
The intruder was taken to the hospital and will face charges.
Deputies have not determined what the dispute was about.
