HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — People living in a local neighborhood say their water has been off and on for weeks.

Families at the Deer Creek mobile home park in Stockbridge said the water slows to a trickle almost every day. They said sometimes the water shuts off for 12 to 16 hours.

"My son can't take a shower. I had to bathe him with a gallon of water," resident Tabatha Kent said.

Matthew Bruce said he had to take extreme measures with his toddler because they can’t flush.

“I told him he had to go in the woods to take a number two,” he said.

Residents said the issue is ongoing.

“Most of the time they don’t turn it back on until after midnight, 12 to 16 hours later, and no one at the office answers the phone,” Kent said.

Channel 2's Carl Willis went to the management office, but was kicked off the property and told to call the corporate office.

The chief operating officer of Michigan-based Riverstone told Willis the outages are due to a pressure reducing valve that malfunctioned and caused the system to be over pressurized.

That caused several lines to break and leak throughout the property.

“We’ve had to turn the water off intermittently in order to fix those leaks and then we turn the water back on,” Riverstone COO Sarah Riutta said.

Riutta said it’s been a series of bad events this week after she says Atlanta Gas hit a line.

“And then having the electricity shocking contractors and shocking different people where we had to have the gas company have the electric company come out,” she said.

Riutta said staff members have been passing out water and food where necessary.

Kent said she will be watching and waiting for consistent water service.

“At least compensate us somehow. We still have to do dishes, everyday life,” she said.

Management said the water should be back to normal Saturday.
