LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. — A traffic stop on Interstate 75 led to the seizure of more than 550 pounds of marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.

Around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Lowndes County deputies were conducting traffic enforcement along I-75 southbound when they spotted a black Dodge Ram ProMaster Van committing a traffic violation, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities stopped the van and made contact with the driver, Yong Pan.
During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the van.
Authorities said the search uncovered 18 cardboard boxes containing 559.4 pounds of packaged marijuana.
Pan was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana. Pan was booked into the Lowndes County Jail.
