Multiple traffic red alerts on I-85, I-285 to start Friday commute

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The early morning commute is already off to a rough start on Friday. Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields says there have been at least three traffic red alerts across metro Atlanta so far.

A fiery crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer shut down Interstate 285 westbound at Old National Highway in Clayton County. It reopened around 5:18 a.m.

And in Gwinnett County, two crashes are causing problems. The first happened on Interstate 85 northbound at Jimmy Carter Blvd. The second is on I-85 southbound at Sugarloaf Parkway exit.

I-85 northbound reopened at 4:30 a.m.
