Moving truck crashes into Sandy Springs home

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A moving truck plowed into a Sandy Springs home on Monday.

The homeowner told Channel 2 Action News he was eating lunch when he saw the trucking headed for his house.

"I'm really thankful that I saw it, because I was sitting right here," said Dan Forrester.

Forrester tried to point out the table he was sitting at to Channel 2's Erica Byfield, but with all the debris it was hard to see.

The truck traveled at least 100 yards before slamming into the house. Forrester said his neighbors up the street hired "Mark the Mover" to help them move.

Forrester told Byfield he heard screams, looked up and saw the truck and ran towards his garage.

"I'm pretty shook up right now. I'm also thankful that no one else got hurt. There was a guy that was in the back of the truck. I'm glad he was OK. He was really shook up," he said.

Sandy Springs police say there were two people in the truck and one jumped out about half way down the hill.

This is not the first time a vehicle hit Forrester's house. A Mini Cooper slammed into his garage last month.

"It rolled down and did some pretty minor damage compared to this. It just knocked a hole in the wall right there," he said.

The owner of the moving company did not want to answer any questions.
