Motorcyclist killed in I-20 crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A Grady Hospital EMT was killed in a motorcycle crash, right after he got off work early Sunday.

The incident happened at about 5 a.m. at I-20 west, near Lee Road in Douglas County.

Police said 37-year-old Jason Dale Strickland, of Bremen, was hit from behind by a drunk driver.

The driver of the Honda Element that hit Strickland, 33-year-old Francisco Ferrer, of Dallas, has been charged with vehicular homicide and DUI.

Strickland thrown from his Harley Davidson into the center lane, where he was struck by several vehicles, including a tractor trailer, police said.

Police said he may receive more charges once the investigation is complete.
