Mother suggests metal detectors after gun found during fight at high school football game

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A fight broke out at the East Coweta football game on Friday night. It was at the entrance of the stadium.

A gun fell out during the fight, and everyone ran. Afterward, investigators reviewed security video.

Twenty-year-old Shamarion Resse was arrested. He was charged with possession of stolen firearm, carrying a handgun on school property and fighting. Four other teens were taken into custody and charged with fighting.

One mother, Ciska Harralson, told Channel 2 that her son was at the football game when the gun fell a few feet away.

“The gun just dropped at his feet when the kids started running. It dropped out and fell at his feet. What was his reaction? He knows Better than to touch a gun,” Harralson told Channel 2’sTom Regan.

Another parent suggested using a metal detector for people to go through like at the airport.
