Mother, sister of man found shot dead in car with wife speak out

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The mother and sister of a man found shot to death in a car with his wife are speaking about their loss.

The couple’s 3-year-old daughter was unharmed in the back seat.

"They had their little family going and some monster came and took it from them," Shannon Wilson said.

Anthony Costner, 24, was Shannon Wilson’s only son, and ever since first grade she said he was close with his future wife.

“She told me ever since she was a little girl she was going to have babies and marry him,” Wilson said.

Anthony Costner was killed in Powder Springs with his 22-year-old wife Catherine Costner, according to police.

Police believe their daughter Kinsley was in the car early Thursday morning when the young couple was shot.

"I can't even speak the words of how somebody could do this to a family and break them apart knowing that a little girl has to grow up by herself," Anthony Costner's sister, Autumn Wilson, said.

Kinsley's grandmother says she saw the toddler Saturday she will be taken care of by a relative.

“(She’s) a good little girl, full of life, smiles all the time, laughs all the time, loves animals, loves people, like her mom and daddy,” Wilson said.

Police say this was a not a random killing although Anthony Costner’s family has no idea who may have targeted him and his wife.

“I hope they really catch who it is, I really do, so everyone can know that's a heartless person, at least my brother could be put to peace after that,” Anthony Costner’s sister said.

The family said they are relying on the support from each other and thier community while they now have to plan a funeral.

They have started a GoFund page for the funeral and extra donations to be given to the couple's young daughter.

The family said they have received a lot of support from neighbors and even strangers.
