MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies have arrested a man on charges of theft after a pursuit in an alleged stolen vehicle.

At 9:01 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies with Monroe County were informed by Georgia State Patrol of a chase on Interstate-475.
According to officials, deputies spotted the suspect, Diamond Kahlil Joell,24, of Pennsylvania, fleeing at mile marker 15. The car got off the Interstate at exit 15.
Officials said Joell lost control of the car, leaving several car parts on the side of the road.

Joell regained control and made a turn onto Georgia 19 and then a turn onto Estes Road.
Deputies found the vehicle at 10279 Estes Road.
An investigator saw the suspect taking items from the car. When Joell saw the investigator he ran from the car but was caught and arrested.
The vehicle was identified as stolen out of Delaware, authorities said.

Joell was taken to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and currently faces charges of theft by bringing stolen property into state, and multiple traffic violations.
