Missing Floyd County woman found with man charged in weekend murder

FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — A missing Floyd County teenager has been located and the man she was with has been arrested on murder charges.

Barbara Meagan Witt, 19, who goes by Meagan, had last been seen Saturday.

The two were found in Silver Creek, but police have released little detail about how they found the two.

Police located Witt with Stevie Lamar Garner, who has been charged in the killing of Patrick Marcus Wall.

Cassie Witt said she knew her daughter was friends with Garner, 27, who goes by Bubba.

She said that a year ago, Garner put his hands on her daughter, so she did not want him around.

She said she heard on Friday that her daughter was with Garner.  When Meagan Witt would not answer, Cassie Witt said she called Garner's phone to talk to her.

"I asked her then, 'What are you doing with him? He is bad news. I know it and you know it,' and she says, 'No, he's doing alright right now,'" Cassie Witt said.

Cassie Witt said she received a text message from her daughter the following day, Saturday.

On Sunday, she heard something that horrified her.

"I got a text from her brother Sunday morning saying 'Mama you need to check on Meagan, because I heard that boy killed somebody last night,'" Cassie Witt said.

Floyd County sheriff's investigators confirmed that Garner is wanted for the murder of 21-year-old Patrick Marcus Wall

Wall was shot to death in Rome on Saturday night, in the same area where Meagan Witt was last seen.
