ATLANTA — The medical examiner has identified the body of a woman found nailed inside a closet at a home in northwest Atlanta.
The ME says the woman is Nicole Sartell. Neighbors say she had been missing for months.
The bodies of Sartell and another woman, 33-year-old Heather Camp, were found inside the home Dec. 19.
Camp’s body was found covered in a sheet in a back room. As police searched the home, they discovered Sartell’s body in a bedroom closet that had been nailed shut. Police believe Sartell’s body had been there for months.
Neighbors who knew Sartell told Channel 2 Action News she had been missing since mid-August.
"I put out posters on her with a reward with anybody that knows her whereabouts and we never had heard anything," said neighbor Charles Freeman. “She was like my daughter and I loved her very much.”
Channel 2 Action News recently obtained police reports for the home on Madrona Street, showing it had been the scene of many crimes.
So far this year, police have been called to the house 14 times for prostitution, drugs and fighting.
